Foundation Course in Germany

Germany is the country of poets and thinkers or das Land der Dichter und Denker. It is also the number one economy in the European Union and the number four economy in the world. The country is famous for world leading engineering, beer and sausages and its passion for football. It is also one of the best countries in the world to get a higher education. Not only because the quality of education is second to none but also because it is mostly free of charge if you are eligible. Our program will help you become eligible.

As an added bonus: After a few years of being legally resident in Germany you may apply for unlimited residence or even citizenship (after 5-8 years). Other prerequisites are:

  • good conduct

  • proving that you have reasonable German language skills

  • a reasonable purpose of continuing to reside in Germany, such as full time employment, starting your own business, marrying a German citizen etc.

  • any other prerequisites the German government may stipulate.

Please note that further studies (Master or PhD) do not in themselves qualify as a reasonable purpose for residence.

German university

Gain access to German universities via Studienkolleg foundation courses. These Studienkollegs are roughly one year in length and require an intermediate level of German (A2-B2), but the higher your level, the better.

Life services

You will be picked up at the airport, introduced to your accommodation and helped to get started in Germany. Our experienced team will make sure you have a smooth time in Germany from the moment you step off the plane until you enter German university.

Visa support

Getting a student visa for Germany can be cumbersome. We will support you in getting your documents ready and help you prepare. Also, speaking intermediate German always helps to impress visa officers and prove that you are serious about Germany.

Road to citizenship

After 5-8 years of legal residence in Germany and having a reasonable purpose to stay, you can apply for unlimited residence or German citizenship through a migration lawyer. Again, German language is a must.

The Studienkollegs

The most straight forward way to enter the German university track is through so called Studienkollegs (foundation courses) which serve two purposes: assess if a student is fit for studies in Germany and prepare the student for German university life, which may be different from what they are used to in their home countries.

We work with many such Studienkollegs in Germany and offer a holistic service where we will pick you up at the airport in Germany, organize your accommodation, help you with visa application, get you prepared for German university, help you with your university application etc.

FAQ

What is a Studienkolleg?

Studienkollegs are public and private institutions that help foreign students to gain access to German university through a one year course. Students have to work hard and pass the Studienkolleg exams.

How much does a Studienkolleg cost?

Tuition fees vary according to the level of service. Our program costs 20,000 EUR, including airport pick-up, accommodation and many other activities.

Can you help me find an internship?

Internships are usually only relevant after you have started studying at German university. Your university career service will be able to help you find appropriate opportunities.

When should I apply for the program?

It would be best to apply at least one year before you want to go to Germany. Apart from getting your visa and other preparations, you will also have to participate in an entrance exam and learn German before you can go to Germany.

When does the program start?

The program starts in late summer/beginning of the fall. So plan to travel Germany some time in September or October.

Am I guaranteed a university spot after Studienkolleg?

When you finish your Studienkolleg, you will be treated just like any other German student applying to university. If you have certain universities and majors in mind, you should work hard on your grades during the Studienkolleg so that you have a competitive final grade. Many German universities and majors will admit students according to their final grade. There has never been a case of a student finishing the Studienkolleg and not gaining admission to a German university.
